I gauranteed Rex would not be the starting QB in Chicago this coming year, in fact I gauranteed he would never be a starting QB in the NFL. I have now been proven right for good, HAHAHHAHAH!!! The Bears signed Griese to a 5 year contract worth lots of money, the first year alone is over $5 million. There is no way in he%l he is going to be backing up Rex Grossman. Rex Grossman is now a 26 year old going into his 4th NFL season and he has still NEVER been a real NFL starting QB, a starting QB in the NFL starts more than 2 or 3 games in a single season, the most he ever has, no matter what the excuse(injuries, etc...). Rex will almost certainly be cut now. He no longer fits into any future plans. Orton will be a good backup to learn for the future, and in a few years he might be ready to push Griese for the starting job. Keeping Grossman who will now NEVER be the Bears starting QB, if he is not ready as a 4-year veteran at 26 he never will be, would be pointless. Also if you think any team will ever take Grossman on as a starting QB you are dreaming, he will end his career never being an NFL starting QB on any team.
