Red Horner one of the oldest living players has passed away at the age of 95. I remember him being at the closing ceremony for Maple Leaf Gardens and how amazing it was for someone who played in the 1920s and 1930s to be able to be at the ceremony.

I remember that night, he looked very spry. It seems he had a full life, RIP.

Horner was an interesting player. Fantastic bodychecker by all account, and was also major league tough. He lead the league in penalties for a record 8 consecutive years (1933-1940). Horner has the 3rd most Normalized Penalty Minutes in history, as well as the 44th highest Goon Rating (http://members.shaw.ca/hbtn/player_study/norm_pen_goon.htm)
