Flames add depth
CALGARY (CP) -- The Calgary Flames acquired defenceman Cale Hulse from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for minor-league forward Cam Severson on Tuesday.
Hulse, an Edmonton native, previously played for the Flames from 1995 to 2000. In 27 games with Columbus this year, Hulse had four assists and 81 penalty minutes.
The 33-year-old has 16 goals and 78 assists in 607 career games with New Jersey, Calgary, Nashville, Phoenix and the Blue Jackets.
Severson was signed by the Flames as a free agent before the season. He spent the entire season with the American Hockey League's Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights.
