Has anybody heard if Vokoun was officialy to injured or sick to play, or did the Czechs lose their brains and actually not start him in the semis? If they chose not to start him they were idiots.

They chose not to start him

But, they went with Vokoun today..and shut out the Russians 3-0

If I knew they were going to do start him, I would have chosen the Czechs :shrug:

They were stupid stupid stupid to not start him in the semis though. What idiots the coaches were.

Yeah, it wasn't the smartest thing to do

Sure, Vokoun had a bad outing against the Canadians

But, he is a sharp goaltender..who usually bounces back with a vengenance.

He proved it with his play today

The Czechs greatly diminished their chances of winning a gold or silver by getting into the gold medal game with their decision. Sure Sweden may still have beaten them but they would have had a much better chance. I am willing to bet Vokoun feels bitter about it all and will have some words afterwords, ala Modano. I would be bitter and upset if I were him as well(
as well as Modano after the Finn quarterfinal of course).
