The idiot who announced the US/Sweden womens game said "they have their best face off MAN in the penalty box. You guys may not find this offensive but I do. There are no men playing womens' hockey so why not change the names of the positioons or whatever that was. I went "postal" when I heard that statement.

Not really an announcer blooper but did anybody notice that on the NHL.com website, scores page it shows that A. Suglobov scored the third goal for New Jersey.

The Score sheet shows Weimer was the goal scorer.


For those who don't know, A. Suglobov was traded to Toronto for Ken Klee.

Not a announcer, but a sportscaster for CityTv here in Toronto. The poor thing, I assume she wasn't the normal sports person, that Gallagher was sick or something, but it was the highlights from a Philadelphia-Toronto game and she absolutely butchered the names of several players. Chad Kilgore puts it past Eschee.

That's OK, Bob Cole IS the normal sports person and he absolutely butchers the names of the players.
