I have been watching the Olympics on NBC & CBC this year (as always) and curling on TSN.
Usually the American station will not show an event unless one of their athletes has won a medal.
I have been pleasantly surprised this year with NBC's coverage.
Especially the men's figure skating . . .with them giving full praise to Jeff Buttle.(and kind of crapping on John Weir at the same time).

Maybe they finally realze its about athletic performance . . .not just American athletic performance.
Hey, I think it's great to pump up your own . . .but others are doing well too.
Good on you NBC . . .finally.

Although, I haven't seen a hockey game yet on NBC:shrug:

Have you noticed that sportsnet and The Score can't show replays of the hockey games. While their announcing the outcome they show a few images of the game.
What's with the broadcast rights this year? I don’t remember it being like this in the past?

Is NBC also showing hockey?

I remember vividly in 2002 when Mike Toth on Sportsnet was acting out the figure skating routines in place of highlights. The IOC is strict about the rights and so are the other network that have paid handsomely for them. They don't want others to be able to freely show highlights.

As for coverage, I can't stand NBC.
