He won the Heisman Trophy in 2001 I believe. He has good mobility and people have compared him to Matt Dunigan. Since Bishop will not be able to replace Allen this guy is worth the look-see.

I believe this is the guy that won the Heisman as a QB but then wanted to convert to WR in the NFL. He has the ability to be a WR but I don't know if that's what his position will be. I'd like to see what he can do given the chance at either position.

I think it was the Rams that wanted to make him a wideout, and that pissed him off since he believed he was an NFL quality QB. I could be wrong, but if anybody cares enough they could probably google it in 5 seconds.

You're right the Rams did want to make him into a WR. Liam, Crouch will get the opportunity to be the QB for the Argonauts. The starting QB Damon Allen, while named the MVP last year of the CFL is pusing 43 and the Argos need to look to replace him. Crouch's game is suited a little more to the CFL hence the theory that he might be more successful up north.

Crouch is only the #4 QB for the Argos right now, he is a total meaningless part of the team. I dont know why there is any interest in a #4 QB personally, even if he is a former Heisman trophy winner.

If Spurgeon can't win (vey punny:nod: ) then he will move up the depth chart very quickly. He won't be the first US College star QB who didn't fit the NFLmold of what a QB should be to try the CFL.

Well with Damon Allen injured, they bring in another QB to be Spurgeon's backup, since they dont even feel comfortable with Crouch as backup to the starting backup. I would say he is more of a passenger getting a free paycheck then even a depth QB in case of injury.
I have never seen so much excitement over a #4 QB on a CFL team.

He hasn't played QB since he was at Nebraska. He's probably still working on some things before he's game ready.

Actually that is a good point. I forgot about that a bit. Hopefully by the end of the year he is able to be comfortable enough to be the teams #3 QB, especialy if he comes back next year.

I see Crouch was the pivot tonight in the win over Saskatchewan.:coffee:
Seems to me there was more hype over Ricky Williams than Crouch.

Yeah but he was not only a starting running back, but one some thought could dominate the CFL this year. Crouch was a #3 or #4 QB when everybody is healthy.
