I don't know if anyone else saw the Pro Bowl but I watched some of it. The NFC won 23-17. But that really isn't the reason I started the thread, the reason is that Roy Williams put a hit on Rod Smith that I considered dirty. Smith was layed out for a catch that he had already had no chance of catching and Williams laid a helmet and shoulder right into Smith's lower back. Smith was on the field for a little while but luckily got up on his own and doesn't appear to have sustained any type of injury. In a normal game, I probably wouldn't have any problem with the hit but in the Pro Bowl this kind of hit is uncalled for. This is supposed to be a fun game and festive atmosphere. Instead Roy Williams takes this cheap shot on an exposed Rod Smith.

Am I being to bias as an Eagles fan that Roy Williams' hit was dirty, or was it truly a cheap shot??? Should they even play this game at all, or just do skills competition that they normally hold???

BTW, at the skills competition, Larry Allen won the Strong Man event by bench pressing 225 pounds and amazing 43 times. The closest two had 35 times.

Having an exhibition game in football is stupid. These guys have played season at full blast, and now you're asking them to slow down? In the heat of battle, instinct takes over you react the way you would react in any normal game.

Admittedly, I didn't see the hit. It probably was dirty, but I have no problem that. If you're gonna play the game you have to expect things like this will happen. So I guess I'm in the just do the skills competition boat.

I didn't see the game, I didn't see a replay, so I'm not going to comment. Glad to hear Rod Smith is okay though.

The Pro Bowl is crap. It always has been. On the other hand, the skills challenge is a lot of fun and I enjoyed watching that. The obstacle course with the Bills' punter was cool and the kicking competition when they were on the beach was great. I want to see more of that stuff.
