Keith Tkachuk is back and had a goal in his first game. Remember prior to his hand injury he was back in top shape and on a major scoring hot streak.

Do you think he gets shipped out of St. Louis as did Weight?

And if so where to....

(he makes 7.6, but is a UFA after this season - so he's a rental)

He's already said he want's to stay in St Louis and I think he has a no trade clause. Saying this I'm sure he would take an opportunity to win a cup and then come back to St Louis. Whoever it is it would have to be a contender and they would need 3 million in cap space. Also I doubt St Louis would take any salary back unless it comes in a younger UFA otherwise what?s the point in trading. Vancouver is out of the question and I don?t know what most teams cap situation is like other then Ottawa, Calgary and Edmonton who all three of them might be reluctant to dish out the 2 - 3 million for a rental
What's NYR cap space like?

I hope Clarke goes after him. We need him. His salary would be cut in half if I read right..somewhere.

@ Max - I think now that his setup man Weight has moved on, I don't believe he has any desire to spend the tail end of his career on a rebuilding team, no matter what he says publically. He's a Massachusetts native so Boston may attract him. But if he's itching for a Cup win. He's probably looking at the top echelon teams only.

I don't know if the Rags could afford him... but even if they could I don't think they would. Even though they are a surprise team right in the playoff mix, I don't think they have any cup aspirations this year. A few years out when the prospects are NHL ready, they might be in the market for rentals. But I just don't see it happening this year. Rags are focused on the future. not the present.

@ SWF - Tkachuk would make the Flyers downright scary. If that happened I'd put them right up with Ottawa and Carolina (assuming Forsberg is healthy). As a division rival - I would hate to see that. I'm not sure that the Flys can afford his hefty pay, even if renting. If his pay would be cut in half do you mean St. Louis would eat some of his salary? I tend to doubt that. But if you read it, I'd be interested in the details.

The othe possibility is that if he's cup-hungry, he's waive salary... but I can't imagine the PA allowing that to happen.

Stay tuned :)
