The Philadelphia Flyers acquired forward Petr Nedved from the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for defenceman Dennis Seidenberg on Friday.

The Flyers will also have the option of swapping fourth-round draft choices with the Coyotes at this year's NHL draft and third-round draft picks in 2007.
With Peter Forsberg and Keith Primeau battling injuries, Nedved's arrival in Philadelphia gives the Flyers more experienced depth at the centre position.
"Too much of our scoring relied on just one line and we felt we also needed a shot from the point on the power play. Nedved has always been a good scorer and a real good player and we think he'll solve some of our problems up front," said Flyers general manager Bobby Clarke.
"Nedved has great speed, great hockey vision and a great shot, and because of the play of Freddy Meyer and Randy Jones we felt we could give up [Seidenberg]. Not that we wanted to, but our theory was that we needed some more scoring ability and more skill up front."
After splitting the 2003-04 campaign with the New York Rangers and Edmonton Oilers, Nedved signed with the Coyotes as a free agent on Aug. 26, 2004.
His tenure in Phoenix was far from smooth, however, as the 34-year-old winger missed 19 games with groin and elbow injuries. Nedved has two goals and 11 points in 25 games this season.
"This year has been kind of frustrating as far as offensive production so hopefully I can help Philadelphia and start producing offensively. I want to help the team win hockey games and ultimately the main goal, to win the Stanley Cup," said Nedved.
Over his 14-season NHL career, Nedved recorded 391 points (303 goals, 388 assists) in 914 games with the Vancouver Canucks, St. Louis Blues, Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Edmonton and Phoenix.
Nedved was originally drafted by Vancouver in the first round (second overall) of the 1990 NHL draft.
Seidenberg, a 24-year-old native of Germany, has also had injury troubles this year, missing 11 games with knee, wrist and head injuries.
Seidenberg had two goals and seven points in 29 games with the Flyers this season.
I wonder if this means Forsbergs injury is more serious than first thought?
