No doubt we have our Pro / Anti NHLPA posters here.
I have a question strictly for the Pro NHLPA; To you the believe the NHLPA is being supportive enough and protecting Todd Bertuzzi as best to their ability?
Oh, oh! Here's the stock answer:
They can't be biased between him and Steve Moore.

The NHLPA has other problems right now and as a result it has probably caused them to not pay attention to this matter as they might if there was no lockout.
As PDO pointed out, the PA is in a tough spot with these two. They could find themselves under very heavy criticism if they try to side with one or the other. Both are members and deserving of the same consideration.
The PA should keep a low profile on this, and hope that the NHL gives a fair ruling.
I just read this article about the Bert hearing.
http://www.sportsline.com/nhl/story/8420902
mentions this about the PA:
The NHL players' association will monitor the hearing via conference call from a procedural and fairness perspective and will not have a role on behalf of either party.

I was watching that Fan 590 talk show on SN yesterday, and the panel was discussing how abandoned the Moore family feels by both the NHLPA and NHL, in particular the NHLPA. They also mentioned that the lock-out is not related to Bertuzzi and it's just bad timing for him, as the no hockey this year will probably not play into his meeting coming up. Looks like a lot more time for Bertuzzi to sit, that was the general feeling that was said in not so many words.

Hey, sometimes I have to earn my salary.
...Is hockey back yet?

The NHLPA has a conflict of interest in this. Both players in question are members so they shouldn't take sides.

I'll answer the question with one of my own: Do you think the NHLPA has favoured either Moore or Bertuzzi in this whole situation, or have they been fair to both parties?

I think they have hung Moore out to dry. Another reason to HATE them.

I've stayed out of the whole Bert / Moore thing but I do believe Moore has been pretty much abandoned.
Not that it bothers or matters to me in anyway, it's just how I see it.

What pisses me off is that Bert is seen as some sort of a victim. OMG if it hadn't been done within the context of a hockey game things would have been so different.

Does that really surprise us though? If they had to take sides, which side would they take? The side of a "fringe" player, or that of a "star" player?
The thing that bothers me from Bertuzzi's side is the way he's been hung out to dry in terms of his suspension. If the league wanted to send a message, they should have handled the suspension immediately, giving him a definitive suspension, rather than letting it drag out through the lockout. Instead, they leave him (and the Canucks) unsure as to when (or if) he'll be able to return. I think from that perspective, Bertuzzi has been abandoned.
Bottom line, I don't think the NHLPA has really helped out either one that much, although I guess they do have to remain somewhat neutral during this thing.
