The Edmonton Oilers (21-11-4) face off against the Minnesota Wild (15-16-4) tonight in a battle of first versus fifth in the Northwest Division.
The Oilers have been the hottest team in the league, with a 7-0-3 record in their last 10 games. This run has vaulted them to the top of the division and second in the Western Conference. The club has won five straight games which equals a season high.
Minnesota started the season off well with a 5-2-1 record but have struggled to stay above the .500 mark since that time. However, they have had several big wins this month with a 2-1 win over Dallas, 4-3 overtime victory against Montreal and 5-3 triumph versus Colorado.
Edmonton holds a decisive 14-2-4-2 advantage in the all-time series with Minnesota.
Like usually pretty much a must win to maintian our posistion, Van and Calgary play each other agian tonight. They also have a game in hand right know, agianst the Oilers. Should be okay game, hopefully Minny doenst slow it down to much.
