In the first matchup for the young Team Canada squad, they will match up against the Fins. As always, the Fins have good goaltending with the tandem of Rask and Ramo. I assume Rask is the starter but the possibility remains for the emerging Ramo to take the spot.

As for Canada, they won both their exhibition games, beating the Czechs 2-1 and beating arguably the second best team in this tournament, the Russians, 8-1 with Justin Pogge making 27 saves and Jonathan Toews with 2 goals. Leaf prospect Justing Pogge will start for Team Canada.

My Prediction - 2-1 Canada.

I'll be watching the repeat tomorrow as the Sens play tonight at the same time. It should be a great game for all of those watching live. I'll catch some real-time glimpses at commercial breaks, infomercials, etc.

TSN always plays the WJC highlights until the footage tapes explode, so I'll see those today.

Get this tournament back to Europe so we can watch both the NHL and the Juniors :)

Seriously I don't think the Finns have such a good team so Canada should win.

Canada 3 Finland 2

If theres one guy I don't like on Team Canada, its Andrew Cogliano. His ability is great, no question about that. He has breakaway speed and sweet puckhandling ability. I just can't stand the looks of the guy. Ever see the movie slackers? He looks just like "Cool Ethan". It just makes me feel like I want to smack him.

You're just mad because I ragged on Edmonton's first round draft choice.

Look, Cogliano is out of my league. Pierre Mcguire has him locked up anyway.

Pierre is far too busy with Parise.

Don Cherry has Cogs all locked up ;)

5-1 Canada. Not a bad game. Pogge continues to impress me. He made a few nice saves but his puckhandling skills are second to none in this tournament. Rask on the other hand wasn't so good. His first period, and the first half of the second wasn't good at all as I think he was nervous in front of the big crowd. After a while he settled in though and he was very good in the third making some huge stops.

One thing I learned about the fins tonight, they're a bunch of pansies. How many turnovers did Canada create from Finland from solid body checks. I mean a lot of the time the finnish players would bail out leaving a breakaway opportunity for the Canadians. Being the goaltender of the fins is not something I envy.

Quick Hits:

Toews has NHL written all over him. Take it to the bank.

Judging by this game, Vancouver should have taken Staal over Bourdon.

Cogliano is very skilled, even though he looks like cool Ethan.
