I think that pretty much sums up why this is the WORST rule in the NHL today. I doubt we'll ever see it removed, but it should be. It takes away accountability, and allows idiots to run all over the ice doing whatever they feel like to whoever they feel like.

Hopefully some goon on some team that doesn't make the playoffs regardless of what happens just beast him down at center ice one day.

Who cares about any fines/suspensions? They're rich enough to pay 'em off easily for both themselevs and the coach, the suspension doesn't see them lose a key player, and they're golfing in spring anyway.

And with fans and others continuing to give him attention, Avery's job is secure. If people want to get rid of him, just ignore his stupidity. Although I would love to see somebody beat the crap out of him.:laughing:

Some day, some year - he is definitely a target for a "Screw the consequences, this guy needs to be hurt" type of incident. Domi sucker KO on Ulf Samuelsson comes to mind.
