The leafs managed to get past the Panthers, but they played horribly. I listened on the radio and it seemed like an old NHL type of game. The final score was 2-1, with Tucker(9th of the year) and Mccabe(10th) getting the goals. Eddie Belfour made 34 saves in the effort and I think he's back to stay.
The next game for the leafs is in Tampa Bay(Nationally broadcasted on TSN).

Belfour did play great, but 2 points is 2 points. What was with the ice in Florida?

Well, if it was pretty much any other team that we played last night, the Leafs would have probably lost. Although Luongo was fairly solid. But, the point is that we have to win the games that we're supposed to, and we did that last night. We're not going to smoke our opposition every night like the Sens or the Conservatives do... opps... we're not allowed to mention that game, are we?

Luongo was forced to make 2 great saves off the Faceoff. Did anyone else notice the Sundin to Wellwood to Steen set play? It was the second shot off the draw,(i missed the first it could happened then too). Sundin wins the draw to Wellwood, who puts it through his legs to Steen, who is in the slot and Steen rifles it. Nice play. It would have been in against a lesser goalie. If Quinn keeps that top line together it will start to produce. It also really allows better ballance to the rest of the team.
Stajan is still one of the hardest workers out there. He damned near got away short handed too. On almost any other team he would be the third line center. His attitude is amazing. He just wants to play for the Leafs. At his full potential he may wind up as a second line center. With his defensive play I would not be surprised to someday see him against the oppositions best night after night. Keep her goin' Kid.

Like Blue said, they play like that against Tampa tommorow or any team with any offense what-so-ever and they're goosed. The opportune 5 on 3's they keep getting rewarded are going to run out eventually..

Also its been noted by many that the Leafs play to their compition. This is the defending Stanley Cup Champion 6 and 2 in the last 8 Tampa Bay Lightning VS the Battle Of Ontario Champion 6 and 2 in the last 8 Toronto Maple Leafs. Should be a real great game.

I think the leafs are going to really bring it against Tampa. I think we're gonna win by a landslide in that one after the effort we showed in Florida. I think that was a good wake-up call.

I'm still trying to figure that out.
I watched most of the Florida game. Belfour looked really sharp I gotta say.
