I had no clue the Canucks were playing tonight until I happened to be looking up some numbers on NHL.com and the Canucks at rotten Avs was on the main page. I thought they were playing on Monday.

The Canucks lost to the mangy dogs in Phoenix last night so they better be upset with their poor effort and come out flying. Also, they are playing the rotten Avs so they better be at the top of their game.

I have no idea who will show up; it might be Bertuzzi or it could be his lazy twin. The way he plays sets the tone for the top line. Without the top line, hopefully we see lots of A S S, KRaP, and Linden and Friends.

I hope it's an exciting game with the Canucks winning. I'm not going to predict the score as I think I'm jinxed right now.

By the way, this is the 5th meeting with the rotten Avs so far this season; the 6th meeting is on Wednesday. That means 2 more meetings between these teams in the last 5 months of the season. Way to go, NHL office/scheduling gurus. 2 meetings in the last 5 months sure builds the rivalry when it matters; meaning the last few weeks of the regular season.

 Linden and friends, aka the stonehands line

The Krap line has looked very good the last few games, as has the Sedin line. Carter is heating up, and playing more consistently.

Well..tonight the top line..HAS to be the top line. No more floating, or looking senseless out there. The team must also play a disciplined game. No stupid penalties by Boots..or Cyclops.

Auld has to have a stronger game too.

If the Canucks lose badly tonight, the noose gets tighter on the Crow's neck. Time to kick the stool, and put us all out of our misery

2-0 for the Avs..4 minutes in. A goal 11 seconds into the game

What the hell is Allen thinking? It seems he has returned to his old goals against ways.

Auld has to come up, and make some clutch saves..as the rest of the team isn't playing

3-0 Avs

  :talkhand:

4-0 Avs..scored on a delayed penatly

But hey, they give the Canucks another penalty, even though they did score??????

Pathetic

PatheticJovo's stupid penalty was in effect so his penalty was cancelled out and the rule is only one penalty can be cancelled out by a goal, thus Carter received his penalty.

Now for my own opinion (Iced Tea clears his throat)

:curse: :burning: :eyebug:

What the fudge is happening to the Canucks? Is the plan to spot every team at least two goals before the Canucks do anything?

Bertuzzi looks like he's been shot up with tranquilizers. Is this part of his anger mangement therapy? I don't like the docile Bertuzzi floating around, trying to make the pretty pass when he should be driving to the net and causing problems. If his back is still hurt, put him on the IR and let someone else play on the top line.

The defense is having an awful game. Salo and Allen, what were you thinking on the first goal? Jovo and Allen, the second goal, huh? Ohlund caused the 3rd goal. Allen and Baumgartner were who knows where on the 4th goal, Carter was the player who got back.

The Canucks are taking stupid penalties all over the place.

How can John Garrett stay so upbeat, I'm close to slitting my wrists.

I'm a Canucks fan forever and will stay with them through thick and thin but something has to change and soon.

Obviously this is going to be another game where the refs can't tell the difference between incidental contact and a real penalty, most of the calls so far have been of the absolute BS variety. But that's not what's caused the Canucks to be so far behind, that has been mostly due to the sleepyhead play of, for the most part, their defense, and in particular Bryan Allen who is playing like a tier II peewee, again going for a big hit when there was no hit to be had directly caused the first goal, and his generally weak/out of position play has contributed to others as well. If he keeps that crap up, they will definitely need to add a solid blueliner, if they don't anyway. Ohlund and Jovanoopsi have not been sharp either. Salo is the only Canuck dman who has consistently played like a top 4 this season, he's actually played strong tonight though the scoresheet doesn't reflect it. Morrison as well has played a good 2 periods, as has Kesler, Park and Ruutu once again. Why that line energy line doesn't get the first shift of the game to get the team going I don't know, would seem like an automatic the way they've been playing. For such an experienced "leader" Linden sure took a dumb penalty jumping off the bench and immediately playing the puck before Park could get off. Auld has again not been sharp, but again has had little help. Thing is, the good ones keep their team in games even when they sometimes don't deserve it.

Auld isn't ready to be a starter in this league. Two of those last goals, he should have saved. You HAVE to save them in a 4-2 game, when the Canucks are applying pressure.

Too bad McIvar couldn't get in there :boogie:

This team needs a change, a wakeup call. The players seem way too comfortable making their money, and just seem to not care. Chemistry?

I don't know, but they need a change

If not, they head back to Vancouver, win some games..make us all think they are again a great team. And then, this crap again

The Canucks are drifting aimlessly and something needs to change. http://yelims3.free.fr/Inclassables/Inclassable53.gif

That's a puzzling statement coming from a defendor of Clutzier, the king of soft backbreaking goals at the worst times? Yes Auld had a bad game, the Avs seem to have his number, as they do most of the Canucks this season, but he had little help again, and he's played better on the whole than the supposed #1 NHL goaltender Clutzier has.

I'm not a "defendor" of Cloutier. Just a fan that has come to realize that management is going with him :thumb:

Sure, Cloutier has played like crap. But, Auld hasn't been great either. He has been ordinary.

What this team needs is a bona fide goaltender, but the Canucks wont get one anytime soon

Too bad McIvar couldn't get in there :boogie: I know its not quite the right spelling, and I just couldn't resist, but the nucks need to put some ductape around their net.

Stat of the day: Vancouver has scored only 15 goals in the first period. Only the Blue Jackets have scored less with 9. Meanwhile, they've allowed 26 first period goals, which is the 9th worst in the league. I guess they just need to figure out how to start the game the same way they finish them.

By the way, Bertuzzi has got to be the biggest hot/cold player in the league. Either he dominates a game, or he floats around and does nothing. Too bad he can't seem to find a middle ground, he'd be a much better player IMO.

By the way, Bertuzzi has got to be the biggest loafer in the league. Either he dominates 1 or 2 shifts a game, or he floats around and does nothing the entire game.

Fixed.

And right now management is going with Auld, but that's not stopping you from criticizing him, despite the fact he's vastly outplayed Clutzier this season.

They do need a bona fide #1 goaltender, but that's not all they need by a long shot.

News Flash. Cloutier is injured. This is why they are going with Auld :thumb:

I can't be critical of the team, but you can? :D

Thanks for the stat devil :D

Yeah, Bert needs something to wake him up. Perhaps another 10 game suspension? :D

Regardless, Auld is in net and playing well yet you slag him despite saying nobody should slag Cloutier who's played like crap.

More like the other way around on your 2nd point.

Everyone settle down. All of us Canucks fans can be equal opportunity slaggers when we feel like. Everyone can support players when we feel like. We are all adults here so let's act like it.

By the way, the Canucks save $2500 per day when they send each call up back down to Manitoba. That's 100 thousand dollars saved for 40 times; certainly worth it when it comes time to pick up help at the trade deadline.

Ist of all, every time somebody does you say something like "he's our #1 so, enough already, move on" or something similar.

Second of all, IT does know. ;)
