View Full Version : Marek Jagr?
See that sweet SO goal Malik scored last night? That was ridiculous even to see a guy like Kovalchuk or Ovechkin to score, but Marek Malik??? Perhaps he'll be chosen higher than 14th next SO, though you almost have to be suspicious that Jagr might've thrown Malik's jersey on, what a move.

LOL - well nothing else was working so why not try and mix it up?
quote from John Davidson: "I can't believe what I just saw"
These guys all went before Malik...
Straka, Nylander, Jagr, Prucha, Ward, Nieminen, Hossa, Hollweg, Moore, Betts, Kondratiev, Ortmeyer, Rozsival, and Strudwick
:pimp:
look where Malik's stick is in this photo:
They have Malik's goal at the end of the video recap here....

Free.
Amazing goal.
In reality, it's a VERY easy shot to stop (and it's not too hard to do it either, I know I can pull that shot off about 1/2 times in practice.. and I'm no NHL'er ;]). That said.. it worked because there is no way in hell Kolzig would think that Marek freaking Malik would have the cahones to try that

That has to be one of the nicest goals this season... Right up there with the spezza one earlier.

Wellwood does that move all the time. Scored on it a few times in the A last season. Tried it in the NHL against Florida, but he was stopped.

All Kolzig can do is laugh at that.
I think Malik's reaction was the best part. He didn't even crack a smile. lol

Admittedly, it is a nice goal but I've seen that shot pulled off at least 1/2 a dozen times by rec league hot dogs.

*Points to his earlier post*
Still, to a casual fan it's absolutely insane.
what's insane is who pulled it off, and when and where. :)
(but who more than anything else) lol

Maybe the Canucks should have kept him. They're having trouble scoring goals as it is.:D
One of the best shootouts this season, although half of the shooters looked like they had no business being in a shootout. Funny though, the last two sets of shooters, Muir scored on a wrister for the Caps, then Strudwick scores on the exact same shot on Kolzig, and here comes Malik in the 15th round to win the game. Who'd have thought it?

wooo, that was sick!! like Slappy said it's been done in every rec league a few times times by some hotdogs, but to be fair, it was not rec league........15th round of a shootout in front of 20,000 people and Olie the goalie facin off against ya has gotta be a little intimidating especially if you're freaking Malik!!

Eh, I think the only reason you don't see this move more is that you look like an absolute ******* if you don't score. Very few coaches would let a player get away with doing this on a breakaway, because you can't get a whole lot on the shot. Same reason you don't see the "postcard" very often.

Perhaps the Canucks should trade for Friesen? :D

That was a nice goal by Malik but it looks like he brought the puck back and in a shootout you must advance the puck forward. If he brought it back then it shouldn't count as a goal but I'll have to see the video again in slo-mo to see if I'm right!
Cheers

I don't think that would count...it's just stick handling.
