The Oil have been playing well as of late (well, let's not mention Peca here...for now). I think both clubs are really gonna give it their all tonight and it is gonna be a real barn-burner. If the Oil can solve Kipper they will really hand it to the Flames.

I think tonight's game is going to be a return to the Battle of Alberta like they used to be.

This game is crucial for the way the standings are right now, if edmonton wins only 1 pnt back from calgary, and the flames are trying to catch the nucks for division lead. Im assuming Jussi is starting, hopefully he is back to form and ready to play after having a few games off.

Should be a good game.

Morrison is starting. Peca is on the fourth line tonight.. which leads me to believe the lines will be:

Smyth - Horcoff - Hemsky
Torres - Stoll - Dvorak
Moreau - Reasoner - Pisani
Harvey - Peca - Laraque

This is almost a must win game. Would pull us to 1-2 against Calgary, and leave us lots of room for error and still being able to win the season series with them.

Harvey - Peca - Laraque
Harvey instead of Kolanos?

McGeough hates the Oilers. Always has. Never going to understand why, but we always double up on the oppositon in penalties.
Guess who the ref is tonight? None other than your fave zebra, number 19...Mick McGough!

Mike Morrison = Wow again. How much longer until this stud is the Oilers' number one?

He should have has a shutout in this game, but one got by him. Oh well, in overtime he looked like a veteran and in the shootout he stopped the puck when he needed to; Calgary couldn't bury it.

Oilers remain perfect in the shootout. Warming up to it yet, PDO? ;)

Still hate it.

That said.. we just beat Calgary without Chris Pronger. Let the party begin ;) Thoughts on the game when/if I sober up.

YES!!!!

What a tight game. Good for Pisani to score in the shootout. Too bad Pronger wasn't playing tonight, but what an effort by the Oil. I was sure impressed with Devo's play but not overly impressed with Hemsky.

All in all, it was nice to see the Oil steal a couple of points in the Flame's barn tonight.

I missed this game, went out instead... But morrison agian, this kid continues to impress. He played awesome in the shootout, he didnt let the flames come back at all. Im liking the way hes playing.

Alrighty!

Bergeron played over 30 minutes and was +1. Simply stunning. If you wanna find the biggest reason that we were able to survive the loss of Pronger last night, it was the inspired play of that evil hobbit.

The SHH line was pretty quiet tonight, although Hemsky had one very nice rush that forced Kipper to make a good save.

If Dvorak can play even close to that every game, we don't need another forward on this team. Easily his best game of the year, he came to play tonight.

Has anyone ever seen Pisani miss on a breakaway?

It's nice to see the Oilers outplay the Flames for most of the hockey game and actually be rewarded for it!

Morrison (who I've been high on for some time) just keeps doing his thing. He may not be an athletic goalie, but he does nothing but get results. Anyone want Conklin?
