The Edmonton Oilers have acquired a conditional draft choice in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft from the Florida Panthers in exchange for defenceman Alexei Semenov.
Semenov, 24, has one goal and one assist with 17 penalty minutes in 11 games so far this season. In 103 career NHL games, the 6'6" 235 lb blueliner has four goals and 10 assists for 14 points and 107 PIM.
The native of Murmansk, Russia had eight assists in 50 games with St. Petersburg of the Russian Superleague last season and added 26 penalty minutes.
Semenov was originally Edmonton's 2nd choice, 36th overall, in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
I actually liked the way Semenov played, I still like him better than cross.
