Interesting move by the Oilers. He's had a lot of head problems, but does have a lot of offensive upside... doubt he finds it though. Could this be a pre-cursor to a bigger trade?

As for the game tonight, the Oilers have to win, plain and simple. Apparently Reasoner will be back but Peca won't.

On Kolanos, after a bit of reading, it sounds like he does have offensive upside and is much better suited to RW.

This has to scream trade, as we have 5 natural RW's, and Harvey who can play RW as well.

He does have 2 goals in 9 games with brutal linemates.. maybe we've found a 20 goal scorer to play with Torres and Stoll?

Smyth - Horcoff - Hemsky
Torres- Stoll - Kolanos
Moreau - Peca - Dvorak (most expensive "third" line in the NHL? ouch..)
Harvey - Reasoner - Laraque

This leaves no place for Pisani, Winchester and Rita.. Brodziak has also shown he can play at the NHL level.

Pisani and Rita for a defenseman from Jersey?

Surprising move. I have read that he used to be a clutch player, and has good speed.

Perhaps Lowe thinks he can regain his form in Oil town

Maybe Lowe's intent is to show the team that if they dont perform they can be replaced to encourge them to set up their games???

I think Semenov has played his last game as an Oiler. I expect a trade to be announced very soon, as I see no other reason why he'd be benched tonight.

With 8 minutes to go we're up 2-1 and Markkanen is doing his best to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

Totally sucked today, my satlite wasnt working couldnt even watch the game :burning: ... I ended up watching crash in stead (good movie).

Semonv prolly played his best game of the season when he scored his first goal, I havent been able to watch the last few games so I cant comment on his recent performance. As our other D-men get healthy, the only way semonov could have a spot is if he played unbelievable the last few games and hes only been average at best. I dont know how much we could get out of trade for him though.

Pisani had another goal night, he seems to be scoring more of late... maybe he can get on a streak. I like the way he plays, and its good to see him preforming
