TORONTO (CP) - NHL linesman Stephane Provost of Montreal was killed in a motorcycle accident in Florida on Friday, the league announced.
Provost, 37, is survived by his wife, Sandra, and daughters Ashley and Reily. Funeral arrangements have not been finalized.
"Since his debut in the NHL on Jan. 25, 1995, Stephane strived for and achieved excellence as an NHL linesmen," said Colin Campbell, the league's executive vice-president and director of hockey operations. "We extend our deepest sympathies to Sandra and the family."
Provost, who wore No. 72, worked 695 big-league games including 72 in the 2003-2004 season.
