Berg going back to Finland can be a good thing for all.Family is the most important thing and with 2 young kids having them grow up in their fathers homeland is probably best. The fact that Berg can pretty much play for any team in Finland is a plus.Berg is just not cut out to be a NHL d-man and there's plenty of other d-men that are playing that are worse then him too but with Berg its even more dissappointing considering that he was the 3rd overall pick,so much potential wasted!:(

On that note, something really is starting to irk me and I don't know why it bothers me as much as it does. After the game they always have, After the horn and Leaf talk on Leafs TV, and no matter what callers call in and say, just listening to the reactions of guys like Gary Green, Andy Frost and that other dude(Not Rick Vaive) would make anyone believe that this is a stanley cup team. Anyone who calls in and says trade Sundin is grilled by these so-called experts just because they don't believe it's time to trade Mats. I heard a guy call in the other day and complain about Berg and Frost as brilliant as he is  , says that Berg is a decent #6 defencemen on any team and isn't as bad as people say he is. Honestly it is stuff like that, that makes me positive that these guys are basically paid to make the fans feel comfortable with a crappy team like we have and if anyone thinks differently they're wrong. I never have liked Frost, I think he believes he knows more then he does about hockey, and believe he avoids being critical of the team and players unless one of his favorite callers call in and say it, then he suddenly flip-flops. If we win a game and someone calls in unhappy about someone's performance, it's almost as if as long as we win, there's to be no negativity towards this team and if we lose, we should only think of the positive. If you ask me these guys should all really either call things the way they are or step aside for someone who will, hell Dougie Gilmour's columns in the Toronto Sun sometimes remind me of how Damien Cox writes his, but I respect him because he at least calls it the way it is, these guys I'm afraid are only hired propaganda dealers from our good friends at MLSE.

Round 2 vs the Habs tonight. If we win, we have slim hopes for the playoffs. If we lose, its likely over.

Frost was at his best smoking Joints and eating Mushrooms on Psychadelic Sunday. Maybe an excess of one of the above is why he thinks Berg is a #6 NHL quality D-man.

Atleast watching Edm v. Van, I won't be yelling "You idiot!" at the TV every 2 minutes.

This team has no heart whatsoever. What would I do to get in that dressing room during the intermission. Other then Sundin, Antropov and Poni, no one wants it enough. Including Darcy Tucker. He usually brings it every night, not tonight. Telly is disappointing me tonight but why should he be on top of his game if everybody else doesn't care? Jesus what a bunch of gutless players. So much gliding, jesus I just cannot believe the lack of pride with this team. It's truely disgusting me.

Unless this team puts a miracle together we won't be making the playoffs. Since we won't put a miracle together because the extreme lack of heart on this team, we will not be making the playoffs and its a damn shame because the talent was there to be easily in the playoffs. What the leafs have to realize is that you don't win games by just showing up at the building.

Nice to see the habs come thru with a crucial win
Huet is the man, and continues to prove he is the real deal. If this guy had played more, he'd be comparable to Gerber.
That was a team effort by the Habs.

When did this become the Habs forum?
Ok,what the smurf is going on! We lose 2 crucial games to Montreal yet go into New Jersey and Philly and beat them both!
Midway through the 2nd period the Leafs held the Flyers to only 6 shots but after that the Flyers turned it on and J.S. Aubin was terrific earning his 2nd win as a Leaf in as many games. If Aubin keeps playing like this Telly won't get to play again!Once again Sundin proves why he's the man, keep it up!:D

It's probably too late, but they looked like a playoff team this week and especially Saturday night. Three wins against playoff clubs. A 7-0 victory over Buffalo. J.S. Aubin perfect. Who would have thunk it?

Yeah I was kinda scratching my head thinking about why they couldn't have played like this last week.
Nevertheless, Leafs lost 3-2 in the shootout in the return engagement. They're resilient, but I fear it may be too little too late.
I really liked the way the Leafs played in that 3rd period,it was good stuff!
We may be out of the playoffs but the future looks bright!Aubin once again was terrific!:)

We are still alive and kicking.
Tampa Lost and we won. Yay.
Who else took our fearless leader for the final full week of the season in their hockey pools?
4 goals and 2 assists tonight for Sundin. It may be worth $500 american to me. Let you know next week.
Incase you are wondering, Alfredsson was the guy he replaced. Wooohoooo Come on Money.

Sundin was just amazing last night with 4 goals and 2 assists. He really is a true leader. This is crunch time in the season and he has 18 points in his last 9 games. Wellwood had 3 assists last night aswell.
Now 5 points back with 4 games remaining. As unlikely as it is, there is still some hope.

I remember when I was young the Leafs had to win the last game of the season and Minnisota had to lose. We made it as I remember. I believe that was the year Borje Salming dyed his hair blue.
So who wants to trade Sundin now? I bet his stock is at its highest it has ever been. :D

Did anyone catch his interview on TSN after the game ?
He was saying that on any given night he might have as many chances, with pucks hitting the post, or just missing, etc.
Tonight was one of those nights that everything went right, you have to enjoy them when they happen.

What a game. Great showing from My Boy, Stajan. He should have had the hat trick.
Sundin kept his scoring streak alive. Aubin made some great saves right off the start to keep it a 0-0 game.
Go Carolina!
If the Leafs make the playoffs, it would have to be one of the greatest late season pushes to qualify. And on the same note, one of the greatest collapses by Tampa Bay.
Sundin gets another goal his 17th in the last 19 games and continues to lead a team that was left for dead.Aubin with some huge saves kept us in there. There are now only 3 games left in our season so I'm going to try and enjoy these games.Keep up the good work Leafs!:thumb:

Aubin is a good callup goaltender, who will do very well in the AHL
However, I'm not sure he can play well for 82 games in the NHL
The Leafs should take a look at Denis. He would be an upgrade. Perhaps even Hedberg to mentor Telly

Still almost equivalent to a win for Tampa in the Leaf's point of view. The leafs still have to go 3-0 and hope Tampa doesn't win any, and Atlanta wins only 1. Tampa can only go to OT once, if both their remaining games go to OT, the leafs are out. It's not looking good, but it's possible.

This isn't the first time someone on this Sabre team has been making these kind of cocky statements ever since they made the playoffs. From Briere who's played a grand total of 6 playoff games in his career gloating about the Leafs going to be golfing and he'll be playing in the playoffs to Peters and his display last night, I mean, sure make fun now, but in just over a week after your team has been destroyed by either Philly, Jersey or NYR we'll see how funny those statements become.

I can't take credit for the design. I found the basic template at another forum (i.e. the Oilers' signature I'm using - had to resize it), and changed the colours and added the other logos using Photoshop for the all-Canadian sig.

Aki Berg

Bryan McCabe
Luke Richardson
and...
Pat Quinn/Rick Ley/Keith Acton
Let's not forget the ones who we didn't see either. i.e:
Jason Allison
Ed Belfour
Alex Khavanov
