Rant of the Day!!!!

I am sooooooooooooo mad. I went to the bar that is just down the road from me, (it's sort of a neighbourhood hang out) to have a few drinks with friends. I thought something was a bit strange because there were no cars in the parking lot and it is usually quite busy on Friday night. There was a note on the door saying that it's been closed. :cry:
I called one of the bar tenders and she was only told when she got home from her classes. She was supposed to work tonight. :curse:

I hate it when places close so quickly that the staff are given no notice. It is so unfair!!!!

Unfortunately that's what happens when you frequent a place and only drink water and don't tip the staff. But, I guess that's the best you can do on a pension.... :D :toast:

Rant of the day: Political correctiveness.

There have been some hookers being killed in the city over the last couple of years. They found another body the other day. Why are the media outlets calling the victim a sex trade worker? What is wrong with calling her a prostitute or a hooker? Is sex trade worker the occupation the use when applying for the job or getting their T-4? When did hookers become sex trade workers?

Why can't people call a spade a spade?

On the flip-side of this rant....

I don't understand why a news article would mention a jewelry store being robbed and call the stolen goods bling-bling. I think that's just poor journalism. Frickin' Edmonton Sun...what a rag.

Some ppl might get offended if you call them a hooker/prostitute or whatever... its to aviod conterversy, its funny because its usually not even those that are invloved in the actual buisness that would get all worked up about it...
