Here we go again... for the 3rd time this month the Leafs take on the hated Sens. So far, looking at the trend of the 2 games, we have 2 shootout wins by Ottawa, 3, 3rd period leads blown by the Leafs, and a ton of excitement in both games. So onto game #3, the Leafs coming off a loss to the Bruins, a game they probably should've won, while the Sens coming off an OT win in which, Jason Spezza made Sheldon Souray & Joe Theodore look like minor leaguers with one of the goals of the year. Interesting note, Pat Quinn has decided to focus on defensive blunders and "Missed Assignments"... Wow, 5 years and Pat finally got the message  The Sens are coming in pretty hot right now with only one loss this year, but the Leafs PP has been on fire and Eric Lindros has goals in almost all 10 games this season, so if he can keep up the pace and Toronto can capitalize on the PP, it could be a Leaf win on HNIC.
Injuries:
Sunny-D is still out with his eye injury, it seems like he's been out forever....
Berg & Czerkawski both missed practice with shoulder injuries... but don't hold your breath Leafs fans, both will probably be in the lineup on Saturday, although Czerkawski had a decent game on Thursday while Berg was Berg and if you need a reminder of his play, check out Boston's 2nd goal(the game winner) and watch Berg.

The bonehead on this one was Tucker, it was his giveaway, and Berg was by himself along the boards trying to cover 2 guys. All game long the forwards were too far away from the D to make an accurate outlet pass, which was why they had a ton of icing calls. But the result of this is sort of like a trap, the flow to Bostons O was slowed down but when the leafs forwards cough up the puck it hangs the defense out to dry. If it weren't for a couple nice plays by Kaberle and McCabe on some of the forwards brain farts the score could have been 3 or 4 to 1.
Inspite of the loss, I liked the look of the team. Its only a matter of time before they start to connect on those long bombs and reduce the amount of icing calls. Wether it will happen VS the Sens on Saturday is the million dollar question.
OUCH! Not much else to say.
Sure hope I enjoy the 2nd game as much as the first. leaf absolutley smoked in every aspect of the game, including Domi getting KO'd! :thumb:
Pucker should be put on top of the dive (and fake injury) list for that pathetic display he put on when Volchenkov bumped into him. What a @#$%ing joke, this maggot just keeps finding new ways to display his complete and utter lack of anything resembling class.
Oneil looking to fit in with the leaf, decides that in the dying seconds of an 8-0 loss he has to make a point of throwing a pointless hit on Chara and then slashing away at him like a typical leaf thug. Real tough show there Oneil :thumb: now put the stick down and see what happens. :hammer:

One good thing I saw from the Leafs: Tellqvist. I thought he played well but the floodgates were open and the defensive play of the Leafs was poor so the goals on Tellqvist weren't his fault alone. Plus Bob and Harry love him. Ahh, that might be a bad thing. :D

That was awful to watch a hockey player do something like that. Embarrassing, to say the least.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing as O'Neill was swinging his stick, like a ganster would swing a baseball bat in a back alley beating, RIGHT AT Chara's midsection. Discusting.
All in all, I never thought an 8-0 game could be so exciting.
:D :D :D

Leafs finally had their defensive holes completely exposed tonight. Wade Belak is of no use and should be either sent down, put on waivers or bought out, Khavanov is very weak defensively and Kronwall was a sitting duck out there. Our forwards also showed why half the team is in the minus category. An 8-0 loss is ugly, but it is only one game out of 82 so not much of a concern, not really a fire sale the team type of reaction.

Incredible.
The Leaf are getting blown away by the Sens and the only scrap/shred/glimmer of respectability they could come up with (re: the Leaf) was Tellqvist and they went on and on and on....
Enough with the homer-isms, CBC. That's why I rarely watch the 1st game of the Saturday night double-header - I'm sick and tired of the Kneel & Bob Leaf Show.

Did anyone else notice that when a Sen player had a shot block they said "great block, but Tellqvist would have stopped it with his dive across the ice"? He played well, and he may have stopped it, but that's a bold statement for a last-ditch save attempt (the leaf D, once again, let the pass come right across the ice). Personally, I thought it would've sailed right over Telly and into the open net.

You mean sorta kinda like that shot heard around the world by Bertuzzi???? Yeah that's the way to get it done.
Not much can be said about this one, outright sucked .

Hilarious (I forgot about that)! Perfect example of how the HNIC is a joke and why people make fun of the Leaf (Rusty, are you listening?)
Hilarious (I forgot about that)! Perfect example of how the HNIC is a joke and why people make fun of the Leaf (Rusty, are you listening?)That and the fact that the evil MLSE only chooses to thank leafs fans and disregard all other hockey fans following the lockout. The 29 other (lesser ones, in the eyes of Toronto) teams thank all fans. What a bleeping farce! They should be forced to paint "Ottawa Senators - 2006 Stanley Cup Champion" on their precious ice.

Alright guys, either talk about the game itself or move on. Anymore trash talk and the thread will be locked.
