Well, what a thriller of a game.
The Canucks didn't play all that well, but still got a 5-1 lead.
This was mostly due to prime scoring opportunities, and Cloutier holding the fort.
Then the defense decided the game was over, and wow..5-4  . Good for Linden to get the empty netter, which made it 6-4
I felt bad for Cloutier, since he had such a strong game. Oh well. The Canucks will learn from their mistakes, and move onto the next game.

As I have said before, and fear I will be saying again, When Will This Team Learn there are 60 Minutes in a hockey game. :curse: Brad May ( Brad May!) goes end to end, around Jovo and scores:eek: I thought the Leafs giving up a goal with a two man advantage last night was ugly, but the May goal may have been a two bagger.

Not a great game but the Canucks had the game in the bag until they went on vacation with a few minutes left in the third. Crawford better have flipped out in the dressing room after the game.
I liked the penaltykill and the powerplay; the top line is finally clicking, the A S S line looked good and Cloutier played a great game with many of the goals the fault of crappy defense.
I can't wait for a much better effort for the 2 game set in Colorado. :D

It was mentioned elsewhere;) so I thought I would bring this up for discussion here. In the 3rd period Crawford gave the 4th line time on the PP. The Canucks were up 5-1 at that point. Was this the right thing to do. Pat Quinn has been criticized in some quaters for keeping the Leaf top PP units out late in the 9-1 game against Atlanta. Given that "the Lanche" scored 3 goals in about 2 minutes to change the entire complexion of the game and make it a nail biter ( at least for me), should Crawford have kept the top units out and gone for more goals or did he make the right move in having Linden and co out there?

No one could predict the brain cramp the Canucks would suffer in the final few minutes. If this was further into the season or in the playoffs, I would want the Canucks to score more goals to prove a point to a major rival but early in the season, it would be insulting and just cause more animosity.
I look at it like drag racing, you don't lift your right foot off the floorboard until you're all the way across the finish line.
