View Full Version : Leafs @ Habs - Oct. 15th

Tonight, the Leafs head out to Montreal for an original six matchup with the hated Habs. Flashback 1 week ago, the Habs score late in the 3rd and gave the Leafs their only regulation loss and the only game of the year where the Leafs failed to gain at least a point. Revenge is due tonight, as a fired up Leafs team still steaming from yesterday's game should come out with a purpose tonight.

Sundin is out again
Kilger is still unknown after an injury in yesterday's game

Game time is at 7:00PM and like all Leaf games on Saturday is on CBC:thumb:

The leafs will surely come out firing tonight after last night's blowout. They'll be steaming after the physical affair and they'll try to extend their mini 2 game win streak. All the big guys are firing so it should be a good one.

This one's tough. On one hand, it's Montreal, and I don't think that Montreal has beat us two times in a row in, at least, the last 8 years. (just a guess) Also, Toronto will want revenge, and they usually play well in back-to-back situations. However, on the other hand, I fear that the Leafs may have spent all their goals last night, they may be a little rattled, and Montreal will certainly try to take advantage of a team recovering from the previous night, and with their youth and speed - they can do it.

But, I'm going to say the Leafs ride last night's high right into tonight's game with a win.

We can go back on our losing streak when Mats returns. That's usually how it works right, right? =]

Ironically, yeah that's usually what happens.

We're going to be banged up from yesterday's festivities. But, I think what happened yesterday will also help motivate the guys in tonight's game.

Sigh...I'll have to watch on RDS. They like showing Senator games for some reason here:D

Yeah, good game. Leafs played a hard game. Habs speed really impressed me..yet again. Komisarek is a monster

Can't wait till Zednik gets back.

Yeah you could tell that the Canadiens were alot faster than the Maple Leafs, fortunately it didn't oome to burn the Maple Leafs tonight.

Nailbiter tonight, but we pulled it off and now have, 3 straight wins, points in 4 straight and 5 out of the 6. Eddie played his best game of the year and Lindros was the Pierre Maguire monster tonight. It was a rough game and we took a beating, but we got out with the 2 points and that's all that matters.

Now a nice break until Thursday which will seem like an eternity, but it will give the team a nice chance to rest and heal wounds brought on from the games this weekend.

The long break will definitely be welcome considering the hectic weekend that we've had so far. Belfour had to be quite sharp tonight and was, didn't see the first goal, but he didn't get much defensive help on the second Hab goal.

The Habs had the Leafs pinned down in their own zone alot. The Leafs seemed to have trouble clearing the puck at times tonight. Lindros was great tonight as was Allison. Nice to see Wellwood and Steen get another point each.

Wellwood with an assist, Steen with 2 assists. Lindros with 2 goals. Allison with a goal. O'neill with an assist. Ya gotta love it, all our kids and big guns are firing and we're only 2 points out of top spot of the division and this long layoff will help us for sure.

Belfour played well and though I screamed at the TV at Berg a few times, he wasn't as bad as he usually is.

So far, looks like Lindros is back to stay.

It was a good win but the Habs owned us in the third period and we were lucky to get the 2 points. However this was the only bad period for the Leafs in the game. The mixture of the savvy veterans along with the youngsters seems to be paying off here in the short term but the defence still needs some more help and I'm sure JFJ will address this problem latter on in this season.Imagine how much better this offence will be when Sundin gets back, its going to be scary, for other teams!

Cheers

I don't get it. Even when Lindros played for the Flyers (and I reaaallly don't like the Flyers) I never wished harm to him. He's a good hockey player, good for the game - why would you want the guy in a hosipital bed? I guess I just don't have that kind of anger in me.

Like I've said before, blue was raised with some of the best values like sportsmanship and respect for woman. There's no anger there

Well I do get angry in certain situations... when I can't understand public washroom signs, when I spill beer, when I have to tie my own shoe laces, at any art gallery, when I can't find remotes, propane tanks that empty half way through a BBQ, when I see lady bugs, and pretty much anytime I see a hot chick and I happen to be with the wife at the time. Other then that... I'm kewl as a kukumber. =]
