Tonight will mark the first ever game for the Toronto Marlies as they travel to Rochester to take on the Americans. The game is televised on The Score at 7:30EST and I'm not sure if that is just regionally or national, either way it'll be good to see how the team does and how Maurice does. The team will be without Kyle Wellwood since he's up with the big club for an indefinate amount of time, but will have Carlo Colaiacovo back on defence.

1-1 tie, 7 minutes in.
Colin Murphy with a very nice goal to get the first goal in Toronto Marlies history. Rochester got their goal on a very nice wrap-around. Little observation, I guess with the new rules in the NHL, the AHL is doing the same since the thick blue lines are gone and they have the goalie restrictions as it is in the NHL.

2-1, Rochester scores on the PP. Derek Roy to be exact.

End of the 1st, 2-1 Amerks.
Amerks had a lot of shots on Racine in period one and controlled a lot of the pace. A couple differences from the NHL, the only way to get a penalty clearing the puck over the glass is by doing it intentionally and the AHL is using the 1 ref system. Marl's need to pick up their games and tighten the defence, a couple of successful PPs wouldn't hurt either.

Blink and you miss a lot:
3-3 Tie with Rochester getting tons of chances.
Murphy has 2 goals for the Marlies. Game has a very fast pace to it.
And as I write this the Amerks get another to make it 4-3.
FINAL: Toronto 5 at Rochester 8.
