Habs 4 at Rangers 3 OT. Sat down to watch a bit of this and ended up watching the whole thing.

Marcel Hossa puts one in for NY... In under a minute. He's looking pretty good. Not Marian - but not bad. They should have sent Bonk to the Rangers and kept Hossa. Alex - the Hamilton Slasher - Perezhogin got his first goal. Nice one too. Holy Bonk'O'floateritis. Some things don't change. Souray just plain sucked. This guy is an NHler? Yeesh. Maybe 2 games in 2 nights is too much at this time of year for him. Get in shape or something. Markov played an awesome game. Jagr was shut right down... Markov much of the reason. The Ringers look like a bunch of rookies. Oh yeah they mostly are. But the crowd was behind them. Unexpected in a NY crowd. Or is it? Jagr looked frustrated but he was trying hard. Haven't seen that for a while. In a non-contract year. The Ryder OT winner was a soft one that Radek Bonk's Goalie Grandma could have grabbed. WhatupWeekes? New York needs a goalie. The idiot Pierre McGuire went on and on about how Montreal chose Jason Ward 11th - now a NYR - one pick ahead of Marian Hossa in the 97 draft. Yeah Pierre no team has ever taken a crappy player before a star player in the NHL draft before. Your incessant whiny nagging is insightful Pierre. Keep up the fair work.

Markov really did stand out. I liked the rush that he started with a pass and then caught up and took the puck across the blueline. This guy is good.

GOod summary. Unfortunately I was only able to catch the beginning and end of the game. In the opening ceremonies, they marched Adam Graves out on to the ice. He was one of the more popular Rangers in recent memory, so that always gets the crowd going.

Ranger fans have no cause to be angry any more IMO. The team is doing the right thing by aquiring and developing prospects. Won't happen over night.

In the mean time, Jagr is our guy... which reminds me, I could swear that Kasparitis and Jagr were both wearing "A"'s, so who was wearing the "C"? Nobody?

I'm a big fan of Souray, but I must say..he didn't play well at all. He is trying to do too much with the puck.

The guy needs to relax, and just play his old style. Then he shall be alright

Ryder will be great this season, and Markov will breakout. The new rules will really benefit both these guys
