To automatically qualify for the 2006 World Cup in Germany, England needs to win their last remaining matches against Austria and Poland, on Saturday and Wednesday, respectively. Fortunately they'll both be played on English soil at Old Trafford.

If they do win, then they'll finish exactly one point ahead of Poland for the Group Six title and their ticket will be punched for next June. It all starts on Saturday versus the Austrians, who came back to draw England 2-2 last September. The Three Lions cannot afford another collapse.

I am a little nervous because of all of our injuries and of course the ever present scourge, Sven.

Frank Lampard scored in the 25th minute on a penalty kick to win the game 1-0 for England.

David Beckham got two yellow cards within minutes of each other, which equals a red and means he will sit out against Poland on Wednesday.

So it comes down to this. The most important match in SGE's career. If they win, they're automatically going to Germany. If they draw or lose, then Eriksson could likely be fired and England will have to wait and see if they qualify.

Last time England and Poland met, The Three Lions won 2-1. A result like that at Old Trafford on Wednesday would be fine with me.

I'm not impressed, this team, even with some key injuries should not be making this a nail biter.
