View Full Version : Eskimos shows who's boss, hands B.C. their first loss
Hehe. Clever title, eh? ;)
It was either that or what the Commonwealth's P.A. announcer said: "A loss for B.C. and a W for the double-E."
Anyways it was a dominating Eskimo beat down on the Lions, exposing serveral of their weaknesses. A 37-20 win by Edmonton puts them back into sole possession of second place in the Western Division. It was an outstanding effort from the opening kick by the Esks. And great stuff preventing the Lions from tying the CFL record for the best start in a season. :thumb:

great game gives them a tie for second in the west with Calagary and The Green Riders, and while we are trash talking, how about them Amazing Mets?

Actually, we're all alone in 2nd with the win, at 8-5.
Don't worry, Esks will run the table the rest of the way.. B.C. better hope they don't lose a couple here, or they'll be playing in Commonwealth again in November.

Face it, the Lions aren't as great as their record would indicate.
Let me get my shovel out to dig myself out of all the BS being spewed by Eskimoes fans.
I'd be more concerned about the Eskimoes' weaknesses than BC's. We all knew BC would lose eventually because of several close calls but BC always found a way to win; that's not a weakness, it's a strength. The Lions will be back to winning form again next week.
Edmonton on the other hand lost their previous two games to Calgary and Saskatchewan. Losing to Calgary and Saskatchewan is just sad.

My bad for not fact checking before posting.

Saskatchewan is a good team; don't kid yourself they've been injury riddeled, but that D is only second to the D in Edmonton. Some would say BC found ways to win, personally I'd say they found ways to get lucky.
Besides, that's the great thing about football, all that matters is what you did last week.

They sure did not look great against the Eskimos; that or it was a combination of a great game from the Eskies and a poor performance by the Lions. Doesn't matter for me though, that was tight, great game. :)

The Esk "D" gave Dickenson different looks all night, and had a lot of hits on him as well. I think BC played pretty good, but they came out slow and were missing any kind of a killer instinct. Simon was completely shut down (with the expcetion of his dropped TD about 10 minutes in).
Just for fun.. the Lions play Sask twice, Montreal once and Edmonton again.
Who'd of thought a Buono team ... from BC no less.. would set it self up to choke :).

Every team the Lions have played have gotten hits on the QB. I think BC played pretty good, but they came out slow and were missing any kind of a killer instinct.
I agree with the second part. BC seemed to not care. Their preformance in the first quarter was so bad I almost turned off the TV. That being said, they still managed to come back and tie it in the 4th.

They would have to go 1-5 with Edmonton going 4-1. Yet you seem to be thinking it's likely that this will happen. Delusional to say the least.
I said "just for fun". It's possible, and that's all I'm saying for now. BC would have to go 2-4, not 1-5.. Edmonton would hold the tie breaker. I'm simply saying that the Esks can run the table with their remaining schedule and BC could lose to Edmonton, Sask twice and Montreal and suddenly not have a bye week :).
These men are professional athletes, and if you think they came out and didn't care, you've got to be kidding yourself. BC has been getting lucky all season, and karma has a funny way of evening things out.

They "seemed" to not care. Meaning to anyone watching, they played without excitement or urgency. Perhaps I should have worded it differently, but all I meant is the Eskies looked a lot more excited and ready to play.
It's really pointless arguing this with you, PDO. In a few weeks we'll know if the Eskimos are really going to "run the table". 'Till then keep your words soft and sweet, 'cause you may have to eat them later. (Lame, I know)
Don't look now, British Columbia. The Eskimos are just two points back of the Western Division lead. Yeah, I bet you didn't think it would be this close.

Looks like a tight race to the finish in both divisions. The Argos play the Alouettes next week in a game that could very well decide the east.
GO ARGOS!

Hey now, I didn't make those comments. It was my evil twin brother. I apologize for his rash remarks. ;)

Don't worry, I still love you ;).
How about them Eskimos? Again.
Ricky Ray was huge. Troy Davis was huge. And the B.C. Lions looked ordinary for yet another game.
Sean Flemming has to be the comeback player of the year. No doubt his clutch kicks to get leads and win games have kept Edmonton alive to win the Western Division.
It all comes down to the final week of the season. If Edmonton beats Calgary again and British Columbia loses to Saskatchewan again, then the Lions' little 11-0 start is all for not and the Eskimos clinch a spot in the Western Final.

Not exactly the way I would've liked to have won the west, but hey, Lions only have to win two home games now.

I'm going to kill Danny Macocia. What a pathetic excuse for a head coach. We didn't deserve this game, and I can't hlep but think what kind of team this would be with a capable coach.

Sorry PDO but it was just there. Who would have thought that the team on a roll going into the playoffs is Calgary:eek: . The Green riders cross over but the record of western cross over teamsis not good. The BC Offence has stalled. Could it be an Argo vs Stamps Gery Cup?
Edmonton blew it. It was as bad as the loss at Hamilton.
It would have been a much easier road to glory with the win. One home win and one win on neutral turf for the Cup.
Now it's three road wins required in hostile environments.
:curse:
If anyone can do it though, it's Ricky Ray.
