They're supposed to go nuts here in NL and I've read over the internet that across Canada is expecting a huge increase tomorrow.

So everytime there's a hurricane from now on we can expect this kind of thing to happen?

Yeah, they're blaming this on Rita. IMO, they should at least wait until the hurricane hits before they go nuts.

I just saw on the news a few hours ago that this is all a hoax! Some people flooded the radio stations telling lies about gas prices going up which caused panic and people to line up at gas stations in the maritimes.I can't believe people can be this bad to spread lies like this, just pathetic!

Cheers

It only took about an hour until more people called in to explain it was indeed a hoax and through the night someone had changed the numbers. As I mentioned in the other thread, I filled up today, but may find out tommorow that there hasn't been a massive increase. Who knows how this price gouging stuff works anyways?

However, since this afternoon gas prices at my local station have gone up $0.11 per litre.

Prices are always somewhat ridiculous in Kingston. I have not seen a gas station in awhile so do not know what the heck is going on.

If you're really willing you should make the trip to Snap-Your-Knees and visit the Flying J off Highway 41 & 401. Or the Husky Station at Highway 401 & Joyceville Road. Gas always seems cheaper there.

That's very weird. It's usually cheaper there.

The upsetting thing is that the station probably still made a nice profit off those sales.
