The Edmonton Oilers have reduced their 2005 training camp roster to 47 players with the assignment of seven players today.
Six of the seven players were returned to their respective major junior teams, while left winger Tim Sestito was assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.
Players returned to their junior teams were Mike Duco (LW, Kitchener ? OHL), Fredrik Pettersson (LW, Calgary ? WHL), Liam Reddox (LW, Peterborough - OHL), Roman Tesliuk (D, Kamloops ? WHL), Colton Yellow Horn (LW, Lethbridge ? WHL) and Bryan Young (D, Peterborough ? OHL).
Edmonton opens its eight-game pre-season schedule with two games this weekend. The Oilers open the pre-season against the Calgary Flames at Rexall Center on Friday, September 16th at 7:00 p.m. and host the Dallas Stars on Sunday, September 18th at 6:00 p.m.
Via the pipeline.
Pettersson had a lot of hype around him, but (I believe) pulled something or other. Tesliuk was a disapointment after a great second half of the season. No other players there are really a surprise.
