The Edmonton Oilers announced their television schedule for the 2005/2006 NHL season today, providing local hockey fans with an action-packed season of viewing.
A total of 78 games from the Oilers 82-game regular season will be televised this season, with 10 slated exclusively for Pay-Per-View. The majority of Oilers telecasts will take place on Rogers Sportsnet West (50), with 12 games on CBC?s Hockey Night In Canada, and another 6 games on TSN. Only 4 games will not be available for telecast.
Oilers Pay-Per-View also returns this season with 10 games for fans to view at home via Bell ExpressVu, Star Choice, and Shaw Digital Cable. The first Oilers Pay-Per-View special runs on Thursday, November 3, when the Oilers visit Detroit. Further details on Pay-Per-View packages and pricing will be announced at a later date.

The Oilers will kick off the NHL regular season, as well as their 2005/2006 television schedule, on TSN on Wednesday, October 5, at 8:00 PM, when the Colorado Avalanche visit Rexall Place for the season opener.
