Oilers ink Syvret to deal

The Edmonton Oilers have signed defenceman Danny Syvret on a three-year entry- level contract, Rogers Sportsnet reported last night.
The captain of the Memorial Cup champion London Knights was Edmonton's third-round choice in this year's NHL draft.
The 20-year-old was the Canadian Hockey League's defenceman of the year, a CHL and OHL first all-star and was a member of Canada's gold- medal team at the world junior championship.
In 62 games with the Knights, scored 69 points (23 goals, 46 assists) to finish fifth on the London scoring list. He added 20 points (five goals, 15 assists) in 18 playoff games.Via: London Knights (http://www.londonknights.com/).
This adds even more young depth to the already stacked defensive unit. As much as I hated Syvret when he captained the London Knights last season, he truly is a stud and will be when he enters the NHL. I saw him play a lot in the OHL and am excited about what he can bring to the Oilers in the future.

Jordon Little (D) - 6'4" 214 lbs. Wasn't he the one selected from CBC's Making the Cut?
I'm curious to see how these two pan out....
Tyler Shantz (RW) from the High Prairie Regals (North Peace Hockey League) and Travis Cunningham (C) also from High Prairie and last played with Fluery for the Horse Lake Thunder also of the NPHL.
I realize these guys are long shots but they are playing out a dream of trying out for the biggies. Gotta love that!
