It is time for HockeyStation.com NFL Picks 2005.

Enter now in Week One for the best chance at winning the prize of a Custom User Title and of course gridiron bragging rights.

Picks for week one are due by Thursday, September 8th at 12:00 PM Eastern Time. On weeks like this, where there are games before the Sunday games, a participant can submit Picks before Sunday, September 11th at 12:00 PM Eastern Time. However, the participant will automatically take a loss for the game(s) played on Thursday.

This is a straight up Picks pool that will have week-by-week and overall standings that accumulate throughout the season. If you miss a week, you will not be penalized as per the CFL Pool. Since it is highly unlikely anyone will have a "Perfect Week," the tie breaker used will be the number of weeks that each participant has won with the best record.

Now without further ado, here is the NFL's Week One schedule. I now declare HockeyStation.com NFL Picks 2005 open to the entire forum membership. Let the picking begin.

My picks have been made, however I have been holding off posting them for a reason. I'm posting my picks on Wednesday for one final 'bump' before the deadline. By the way, I am quite happy with the large turnout for this game. There are 14 participants already. Good showing, ladies and gentlemen.

Regardless of what happens Monday night, this has been the best week for picking games. Everyone will finish at least two games above .500 and the combined records is far better than our last combined best week. Good stuff, we're much improved at this picking business. By the way, Canucklehead and THE HACK have already won week six with a current 13-1 record.

we better have our picks in before that game starts.Thank you for bringing that up, Amo. I was just about to announce that.

Here's how it will work.

If you wish to get credit for the Kansas City at Miami game, you must pick the winner before Friday, October 21st at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time. You are not required to submit all of your picks before then. If you miss this first deadline and choose to still participate this week, the final deadline remains Sunday, October 23rd at 12:00 p.m. Eastern time. You will then take an automatic loss for the Kansas City at Miami game.

Thank you for reading.

Here's a little extra incentive for the big game tonight.

After Sunday, Max Power leads with an 11-2 record. He picked the Colts to win tonight.

Only myself and MadDevil has a chance to catch him, because we're at 10-3 and have the Patriots selected.

There are four other members at 10-3 (Bob burns, KeithM, LiAm and Mel), but they can't win because they picked the Colts.

So an Indianapolis win means Max Power wins outright and a New England win means it's a three way tie between Max, Mad and myself.

It comes down to Monday Night Football again to decide this week's winner.

If the Eagles win at home, then Max Power wins week ten outright with a 12-2 record. But if Cowboys win on the road, then Mel ties Max Power for the week at 11-3.

If you will be away in future weeks, but would like to play anyway, you may send me a Private Message (http://www.hockeystation.com/private.php?do=newpm&userid=39) of your future picks or email them to me at jrhippe@canada.com. I can not absolutely guarantee that I will get them because of the way the Internet is, but most likely I will and will be glad to apply them to the given week for you. You may pick for as many weeks in advance as you like and as I said, I will do my best.
