I heard this rumour on another canucks board. Take it for what it is

Vancouver
Koltsov
high pick

to

Carolina
Ward
Vasicek

Here are their bios
Vasicek (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/player_bio.asp?player_name=Josef+Vasicek&hubName=CAR)

Ward (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/player_bio.asp?player_name=Aaron+Ward&hubName=CAR)

I like this deal. Vasicek was the lead scorer, on a dismal team. Plus, he has size, strength, and would compliment the twins very well. Not to mention he has been to the final. He is a RFA, and unsigned. Can play any forward position, and on a number of lines.

Ward would be a decent 6th defenseman. Has two stanley cups, and plays a tough game. He makes 1.5 million, so a little pricey for his role. Vasicek was qualified at $450,000 but is most likely looking for a raise

Sounds like a good deal if the rumor is legitamate. Vasicek could score alot more with the Sedins or Morrison. I don't know much about Koltsov therefore I don't know what the Canucks would be losing.

Would be a good trade for the Nucks. Only problem is that he's a LW/C... can he play RW?

Naslund/Morrison/Sedin/Sedin seem pretty much constants in the Vancouver top 6?

Yeah, I read he can also play RW..

He is versatile..so can play on the top line, 2nd, or even 3rd if need be

Plus has size, goes to the net, and has offensive potential

Koltsov is an offensive defenseman. Has quite a bit of potential. However, he left the moose halfway during the last season..to go to play in russia.

So, makes sense that the Canucks would want to part ways. And the canes are having troubles to sign Vasicek.

Hedican was on the radio, and mentioned that the Canucks were interested in trading for a veteran defenseman, from the canes. He didn't know who. So perhaps, hopefully, there is some substance to this rumour

Anyone is better than Sopel or Malik, heck maybe Murzyn can come out of retirement.

Or maybe Hedican is coming back to Vancouver?

Agreed.

Hedican..not so sure. He makes alot of money..but he has speed, and would fit nicely in the "new" NHL

I really like this Vasicek guy though..cheap, young, and potential. Nonis is starting to irritate me.

Nonis needs to put down his sandwich and make a few trades, one to fill out weak 5/6 defensive spots, a winger for the Sedins and a better goalie.

Maybe there is a Sedin triplet who was stolen at birth, has been recently reunited with his brothers and is a 6'3" 230 lb hard hitting winger. Maybe named Todd Sedin. :D

Nonis, put down the sandwich and pick up the phone. No, don't order pizza; make a trade.

Actually there was a teller at my bank a couple of years ago who looked like the missing Sedin, the guy doesn't play hockey. :(
