Bring Andreychuck to Ottawa?

How 'bout Dave Andreychuck? He made 1.5 M, so with the rollback he realistically won't fetch more than 1,178,000, is a natural LW but can play Center (62% faceoff guy), is a great on / off ice leader. Seems like a win-win to me...someone call Mucks.

Entertain me here on this one guys. This is exactly the kind of guy we need, he's available, he's cheap, and he's got a brand new spanky Cup ring. Discuss.................................NOW!

Only if he'd be willing to sign for under 1M, and for that price he'd likely just stay where he is. He's definatly got some games left and brings the leadership and all the other stuff Ferret mentioned, but realistically he's a bottom-six player and that's not where we need to improve. We could definatly use a gritty top-six LW'er (a second-liner preferably because we're tight with the cap as is and have the guys to inflate the statistics of anyone who has decent hands. See Todd White.) but at this stage in his career I don't think Andreychuk can bring that.

You've been doing that for years. Where has it gotten you? It's opposite of the leafs, we have too many vets. The team with the perfect balance can do it. Ottawa hasn't had enough vets/grit to get them where they need to go. The talent level is there, you have Hasek.. a gritty guy with leadership, such as Andreychuck would be a great fit in Ottawa. Not to mention he's a LWer.
