Not a bad signing, for depth

I read something somewhere about his attitude not being all that great, and He isn't a very physical player, but alright none the less

A good depth signing. Not a physical player, but he ain't a pylon and can move the puck ok. A decent 4th/5th dman.

To tell you the truth, I've never heard of this guy until last night, and from what I don't hear... there's not a lot to talk about.

I think he's a norris candidate.

Honestly I thought I read Kasatonov. Only 46 years old. :]

Meh. I've only seen him a few times but he seemed quite mobile and had a nice first pass. Should be helped by the new rules. Unfortunatly, I don't think I ever saw him take/give a hit once despite being at least 6'2 and maybe even 6'4. He looked about the same size as Phillip (6'3) give or take an inch. Very passive despite having good size. He's apparently a good depth guy, but very frustrating at times.

I'll wait for terms, but it seems like a nice pickup.

From what I've read he can hold his own. I don't know much about him. But in his last playoffs he was awesome from what I saw.. but that was a flash more then likely.

Man. Utd., on the radio I heard the deal is for one year at 1.25M (their source is the NHLPA website). So this looks like a filler signing :thumb:

More on Khavanov if you Leafers are interested.

He's posted some pretty solid numbers when healthy. Higher than I expected. So long as the Leafs don't expect huge things out of this guy, I think he's a solid signing. 1.25M isn't too bad at all.

It's a descent signing. I know he isn't going to be a Norris trophy winner, but he should help the defensive corps.

Berg resigned.. so. here's our D.

Mccabe- Kaberle
Klee - Khavanov
Colaiocovo - Berg/Pilar

It's not bad. We've gone into the playoffs with worse.
