View Full Version : Car Problems...
So, I jump into my car today.. and then I notice something's wrong. My rear-view mirror fell off the windshield and is sitting on the floor.
...
It looks like it's just a bit of glue that melted from sitting in the sun.. but maybe not? Anyone ever heard of a problem like this before?  :curse:

Yeah...it's a Twin Brooks thing. Don't worry. On the other hand....I have a nice red Sunbird for sale with a good windshield. *wink*

Sorry, no true help. I'd try glue. Strong glue.

Trade you the Taurus with a whopping 70,000 KM for the sunbird and 2k :thumb:

Well, my Dad jumped in the car before me... so I blamed him
Yeah. It's happened to me before. You can buy replacement kits at places like Canadian Tire. The intructions are fairly easy to follow.

How did that happen Brian?
I've been having a bit of car trouble too, I need new tires. I roasted mine off earlier tonight on the lot.

My guess is the sun.
Thanks Man U!
#1 problem you are driving a Ford. Enough said.

Yeah, they've been known melt off in heat-waves. Just get the kit to glue it back on as opposed to the whole replacement one.

Brian I've never heard of a rear view mirror fall off and unfortunately glue for transportation devices never comes cheap.

My glue-on kit from Canadian Tire cost me but 4 dollars.....
My glue-on kit from Canadian Tire cost me but 4 dollars..... I dunno if he'll be able to afford that. You know, being an ex-Sport Chek employee and all.

OK maybe for cars, but I know for boats it doesn't come cheap either.

Has happened to me twice. Once in Vancouver and once in Kelowna. Both times I took it to a Speedy Auto Glass and they did it for free!
Ford stands for Fix Or Repair Daily. FIAT stands for Fix It Again Tony and AMC used to stand for A Mechanics Companion.
You think a mirror falling off the windshield is bad? ONce I was with a girl friend and it was really hot out. She tossed me the keys to drive us somewhere in her car and as soon as I opened the door... a lighter sitting on the dash board exploded and slammed into my stomach... I thought I had gotten shot for a minute LOL.
I still don't know why it exploded, but I assume it had something to do with the heat.
For the record it was some kind of japanese car, I can't remember the brand... but the car had nothing to do with the explosion..... at least as far as I know. :conspire:
