Free agent winger Alexander Mogilny expects to play in the NHL next season, once he is completely healthy following hip surgery, reports the Toronto Sun. Mogilny's agent J.P. Barry says his client has received much interest, but none from the Maple Leafs.
The Sun claims it is unlikely so see the veteran sniper wearing the Blue and White next season. "I have not heard anything from the Maple Leafs regarding Alex," Barry told the Sun. "I've had preliminary discussions with close to a half-dozen teams.
"I think if he continues to work out at the pace he has been, he will be ready for the start of the season." Mogilny has been working out all summer and recently changed venues to Los Angeles from his hometown of Khabarovsk, Russia.
Meanwhile, reports still suggest the Leafs are close to signing free agent center Jason Allison, and are apparently interested in winger Zigmund Palffy. And, according to the Toronto Star, center Nik Antropov said he is considering lucrative offers to play in Russia.
