It is good to see Nonis resign the star players to the team so far (Naslund and Morrison) and hopefully get Ohlund and Cooke to deals soon as well. I am not sure if he feels this team has what it takes to go to the next level or he is playing out the UFA game to make good trade offers to teams with lineups close or above the cap. I guess we will wait and see.

The Vancouver Canucks have re-signed centre Brendan Morrison to a three-year contract. Financial terms were not announced.
"Brendan has grown as a player and proven himself to be one of the premier centres in the league during his tenure with the Canucks," said general manager Dave Nonis. "His consistent efforts to improve, provide leadership and his family's commitment to the community in which he was raised in is evident. We are very pleased that Brendan will be returning to the Canucks."
Morrison played in all 82 games with Vancouver during the 2004 season, concluding the year second in team scoring with 22 goals and 60 points. Morrison is also the Canucks' "Ironman" having played in 348 straight games.
