I know why he might be dealt but for Reasoner. Oh well, that's the price you pay to bring a Peter Forsberg to your team. Thank God for Primeau, Forsberg, Carter, Richards, Sharp and Umberger.

Hanzdus is a tough son of a gun and would be used well in Edmonton. He would be a nice second line centre. Getting rid of Marty would be a good load off. Now if the Oilers will sign Kariya, I think that sets them up very well. Eklund has it listed as a top rumour right now.

I don`t think we have the space to get both, and I`m not sure if we even need that many changes to the team, we have depth most teams in the NHL can only dream of up front if we pull this off.

Team 1260.. Jason Greggor just mentioned there's now a rumour of:

To Philly: Laraque, Pisani
To Edmonton: Handzus, Brashear

That would make way, way too much sense for Edmonton. We'd get tougher, we'd pick up ~ $2,000,000 in salary, we'd have two borderline #1 C's.. just makes too much sense to happen!

I read another recent rumour about Handzus to the Oil..on another forum

It would make sense..as the Flyers have

-Primeau
-Handzus
-Forsberg
-Richards

I think he could be a solid number one center on the Oil..especially after that playoff run he had

Espeacilly considering Handzus and Peca can both play some very tough minutes, and Handzus would (presumably) improve the PP.

Was there a mention of who was going the other way?

No, no mention of that. Its via eklund, so take it for what its worth :nod:

More talk that Handzus may be on his way to Edmonton (e2) and this could be clearing the way for Bondra to Philly as early as Monday (e3). But the bidding for Bondra is still heated.

Ah, was hoping this was a new one. Discussed a little in the Eklund thread.

Either way, Reasoner for Handzus and I'm out the door doing backflips ;)

Just for some reasoning why...

Smyth - Handzus - Hemsky
Torres - Peca - Dvorak
Moreau - Horcoff - Pisani

Good luck to any coach wanting to match lines. All 3 have size, all 3 have skill (albeit the third not so much) and all 3 have a minimum of two great defensive players.

In retrospect you gave up too much for Forsberg.

Roenick, Handzus, Amonte, and a lot of hopes and 4 unproven youngsters to step in and be stars. :rolleyes:
