Chris Gratton and Jason York

I read a rumour on another board, that the Canucks had interest in Gratton and York.

It was heard on MOJO, thru an interview with pat morris(Bertuzzi's agent)

Thoughts?

Personally, I think they are both dead weight. York is alright for a 6th defenseman..but if your going to sign someone like him..why not Bombardier?

Gratton is a huge underachiever, but could work well if paired on the wing with the twins

So this was Nonis' ace up his sleeve? A poor defenseman and an underachieving third-fourth line centre? Let's see Morrison - HSedin - Kesler - Chubarov -Linden - Gratton? No thanks.

York played the toughest minutes of any defenseman on his team last year, and would be a solid "stay-at-home" addition to any team in the league. Gratton, on the other hand...

York is alright, but he isn't physical. You could compare him to Malik, but a wee bit better

I'd rather Nonis make a trade, rather than sign these guys. Here are some names

-Boucher
-Klemm
-Morrow
-Parrish

These are guys from teams, that may have to slice salary. But, to be honest..not sure what the canucks could offer..since they dealt sopel the other day :(
