It's official, the Maple Leafs have hit the market.
Sportsnet.ca reports Leafs sign Domi to a 2 year deal.
I know it's just Domi, but the ball is rolling :thumb:
*Edit*Goodness, 2.5 million over two years...for Domi????

I like him in one sense, but hate him in another(Niedermayer). Anyway.. either way isn't worth 1.25 mil a year. JFJ only offered Newy 1 year at 1 million... but Domi deserves 2 years at 1.25. I just don't get JFJ sometimes. He looks like a genious one minute, and does something like this. Anyway, hopefully he can sign Zetterberg.

I like Domi, but there is no way he is worth 2.5 million over 2 years.
At this rate, JFJ is going to be gone in no time..
The time to redeem himself is now, but currently he's doing a very bad job of it.

Hey if he can put forth the effort he did in last season's playoffs he is of value, if not then it is a huge waste of money.

Here's to Domi scoring 20 goals next year... he may be able to crack our top line yet...

Remember, Andre Roy is making one million per year. So 1.25M isn't that unreasonable considering Domi at times can be a decent hockey player (see the playoffs last year).

Why!!! :curse:
1.25 a season!? Come on....
Fan favorite or not this is a really crappy signing. They should've offered him 500k per season and said take it or leave it. If he chose to walk he's very replaceable. There's got to be a 4th line scrapper out there from the Toronto area who'd be willing to take the league minimum.

Didn't Stevie Y sign a 1 year 1.25 M contract also?
Wow, 2 M locked up in 2 goons, that's not Cap-savy at all JFJ, tsk tsk....
I'll wait for Rusty to cool down first before I make my thoughts known

Just wanted to give you fair warning, I am not impressed at all................ Hey man, if you want off the bandwagon, there's always the Oilers to cheer for. I hear they're doing well this offseason.

You know what the man said, don't count your chickens before they are hatched.
No I will not, sorry I refuse to jump on anybodies bandwagon.................

I don't know, I'm not the biggest Domi fan, but if this is what takes to keep him here, then so be it. The cost isn't exactly outrageous. Besides, with the departure of Roberts and Newy. I think it's important to keep a guy like Domi on board, not so much for on ice productivity, although he does bring a small element of grit and leadership that we're sorely lacking right now, but more importantly it's what he brings to the locker room. That sense of familiarity, humour, determination and leadership is what builds a 'team', and it doesn't come for free.

The Score was saying last night that Domi was offered 1 year more in Pittsburgh and a bigger contract. But supposable Domi took a smaller and shorter contract to stay in TO

This is true. Pitsburgh's offer was 3 years at 4.5 million.
