The only thing that I questioned was losing the two up and coming prospects in Woywitka and Lynch, but PDO has convinced me that the Oilers' minor league system is deep enough that they won't be necessary in years to come. Great start for Kevin Lowe. Now he just needs to jump in the deep end of the free agent pool.

This is truly unbelivable... gotta love the new CBA. I was kinda choked with the isbister trade, but this more than makes up for it. SO many young players on the Oilers, pronger is going to a great addition, add some experince to the oilers.

I don't know what's going to be better...

Having Pronger, or listening to the "anti-Oiler" fans going from saying Brewer is only on Team Canada because of Lowe to "you gave up too much, Brewer's great!" :rollover:

Awesome trade for the Oilers. He takes a sh!tload of cap space up but he is one of the few guys who's worth it. IMO, he's a better defencemen then Scott Niedermayer. To lock this guy up for 5 years gives you that franchise guy you've been longing for. Give Edmonton a top line center and these guys are dangerous.

The Oilers really raped the Blues in the trade too. I never did think that much of Brewer, Woywitka is an overrated prospect, and Lynch is ok.

Weighing it back and forth and I've come to the conclusion that Lowe did the right thing.

I think Pronger will have an immediate impact on the blue line. Cherry-pickers beware!
