Alright, only hard parts of it..
We were in the running for Demitra, but he wanted to play in LA. Nothing surprising, he'd already stated he'd prefer to play in the States. Apparently they're very far along with several defenseman, further than they were with Demitra. Niedermayer could go "either way". Rafalski/Schneider are apparently both possibilities. There's been nothing negative about Edmonton, other players have said no becasue 1) they liked another city more because it had something extra (ie: LA) or they felt Edmonton is still 1 or 2 players away from being a cup contender. This will be an allnighter, so anything could still happen.

I'm interested that it appears we're going much harder after that "puck moving D" than we are after the #1 C.. depends on the D, but that might be just fine with me.
There's also rumours swirling everywhere that we're deep in discussion with Paul Kariya.
If Kariya retursn to circa '03 form, we've got the best 1-2 punch on LW in the league.
