This idea just popped into my head. Why not trade away Mats Sundin? I mean the guy is taking up 6.8 million dollars on our cap.
What if we did something like:
To Leafs- Jeff Carter, 1st round draft pick.
To Flyers- Mats Sundin.
Don't eat my head off for the trade, its completely hypothetical and I put absolutely no thought in it. It's an example.
With that extra 6.8 million or so, then we could get a top flight center with that money, and still have Jeff Carter who could possibly center our second line. Or maybe we could sign a moderate top line center at say 3.5 million and a winger at about the same thing(Glen Murray?) and fill 3 holes for one player.
Thoughts? Suggestions? Newfie John you're an idiot?

O'niell - UFA(Modano? Zhamov? Allison?) - Murray
Palffy(out of that money we have) - Carter - Tucker
Poni - Stajan - Antropov

The big question mark is how Carter would do.. but it's just a bone to chew on.
